After trying out the VR-1 single coil set on a Fender Strat Am Std, it reminds me of my experiences trying out those high-end handwound ’boutique’ pickups. Its reaction to touch and ability to deliver full chordal play at high gain levels, was really amazing. Very low noise was audible from this ‘Vintage Replacement’ single coil set, which would have made stock strat pickups hum like a bee hive.
